Many people view their jobs as a secular activity, separate from their faith. But what if we looked at our work through the lens of our faith? What if we believed that God was present in the workplace? Because He is!

The Bible tells us that God is present in all aspects of our lives, including our work. In Psalm 24:1, we are reminded that “the earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” This means that our work is not separate from God; He is present in every aspect of our lives.

When we view our work through the lens of our faith, we can see that it is an opportunity to glorify God. We can use our talents and gifts to serve others and make a difference in the world. Our work can be a way to reflect God’s love and grace to those around us.

Here are three ways to remember that God is with you at work.

1. Pray before you start your work day.
2. Look for opportunities to share your faith with co-workers.
3. Give thanks to God for your job, no matter how big or small it may be.

Prayer is a powerful tool that we can use to connect with God anywhere, including at work. When we take a few minutes to pray before starting our work day, we are asking God to be with us and guide us throughout the day. We are also setting our minds on things above and remembering that our ultimate goal is to glorify Him in all we do (Colossians 3:23).

Sharing our faith with others can be scary, but it is also a great opportunity to show others the love of Christ. We never know when a casual conversation about faith may lead to someone coming to know Jesus as their Savior. And even if it doesn’t, we can take comfort in knowing that we have been obedient to what God has called us to do (Matthew 28:19-20).

It’s easy to take our jobs for granted, especially if they are not our dream jobs. But no matter what our job may be, we can always give thanks to God for it. He has blessed us with the ability to work and provide for ourselves and our families (Ephesians 4:28). Giving thanks is a great way to remember His presence in our lives and an excellent way to start each work day.

God’s presence in the workplace changes everything. No matter where we are or what we are doing, God is always with us. By taking a few minutes each day to pray, being open about our faith with co-workers, and giving thanks for everything, including our jobs, we can remember His presence in our daily lives and be witnesses for Him no matter where He has placed us.
